Insurance - Long Term Care - Remedies for Aggrieved Policyholders
Sometimes, the holder of a long-term care insurance contract feels that he or she did not get the benefit of his or her bargain with the insurance company. Employment - Veterans -Miscellaneous Benefits of Federal Government Employment to Veterans
In addition to receiving benefits in hiring and reductions in force, qualifying veterans, known as preference eligibles, receive many other benefits in federal government employment. These benefits include the restriction of some federal jobs to preference eligibles, lifetime eligibility for reinstatement, and the receipt of certain noncompetitive appointments.
Social Security - Survivors' Benefits
The Social Security Administration pays Survivors' Benefits to certain family members of a worker who died after becoming eligible for the benefit. For each three-month period of employment, a worker gains one credit.
Mandatory Services - Nursing Facility Services
Medicaid is a federal entitlement program that provides health care coverage to Americans with low income and assets. Although the states administer Medicaid for their residents, there is a core group of services, known as mandatory services, they must provide. One of these services is the provision of nursing facility services for individuals who are at least 21 years old. The federal government dictates that only certain types of costs may be charged to residents of these facilities.
Veterans Benefits - Beyond Health Care
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides several types of non-health-care benefits to service members who were discharged other than dishonorably from active military service. These benefits include disability benefits, pension benefits, home loan guarantees, life insurance, and burial benefits.
