Cynthia Brown practices in the area of estate planning and estate administration and has more than twenty-five years experience in that field. She has particular interest and expertise in the area of generation-skipping transfer tax planning.

After graduating from law school in 1989, Ms. Brown served for one year as law clerk to the Honorable Jerry E. Smith of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. From 1990 until 1992, she practiced with the Houston, Texas law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski, where she was an associate in the firm's trusts and estates department. Ms. Brown moved to the Washington, DC area in 1992 and joined the law firm of Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand, where she continued to practice in the trusts and estates field. In 1997, Ms. Brown left Verner, Liipfert with Mr. Tansill and joined Frederick J. Tansill & Associates, LLC.

Ms. Brown received her B.A. degree with high distinction from the University of Virginia in 1986, and her J.D. degree with honors from the University of Chicago in 1989. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Order of the Coif.

Ms. Brown is admitted to practice in Virginia, Texas and the District of Columbia.
